The East Orlando Chamber of Commerce is looking for a strategic, high-energy Event Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of our signature events and programs!

Postition Overview
  • Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
  • Reports To: President & CEO / Director of Operations
  • Location: Orlando, FL

The Event Coordinator takes significant ownership of Chamber events—from venue selection and RFP management to committee leadership and on-site execution. We are looking for a professional who blends hands-on logistics with the ability to lead volunteers and engage sponsors.

Core Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Execution Plan a comprehensive calendar of networking programs, luncheons, and signature events. Secure top-tier speakers and panelists that align with Chamber goals. Manage the "run-of-show" and ensure every logistical detail is confirmed in advance.

Venue & Vendor Management Lead the RFP process: Solicit, review, and evaluate bids for venues and vendors. Negotiate contracts and manage event layouts, AV needs, and catering.

Committee & Volunteer Leadership Facilitate event-related committees and track action items. Recruit and empower volunteers by defining clear roles and responsibilities. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages member involvement.

Sponsorship & Marketing Coordination Ensure all sponsor benefits (signage, recognition, placement) are executed flawlessly. Partner with the Marketing Director to provide timely updates for social media and newsletters.

Operations & Budgeting Manage event budgets, track expenses, and report on post-event metrics. Serve as the on-site lead (includes setup/teardown and lifting up to 50 lbs).

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 0–5 years in event planning, hospitality, nonprofit, or association management. ✅ Leadership: Proven ability to manage committees and motivate volunteers. ✅ Organization: Elite multitasking skills with a high attention to detail. ✅ Tech Savvy: Proficient in event registration platforms and reporting tools. ✅ Flexibility: Ability to work occasional early mornings or evenings for signature events.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: 45,000-48,000
  • Time Off: 3 Weeks PTO + 7 Paid Holidays
  • Retirement: Simple IRA with 3% match (after 1st year)
  • Health & Wellness: Dental, Vision, 24hr Telehealth, and Critical Illness/Accident plans.
  • Insurance: $50,000 Life Insurance Policy.
  • Perks: Mileage reimbursement and compensatory time for extended-hour events.
