Raleigh, North Carolina

Jones Networking is recruiting an Investigator to support a busy personal injury law firm in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate is someone who can bring prior investigative experience, including obtaining records, conducting background checks, drafting correspondence, and consolidating findings into clear reports. Investigator Responsibilities:

  • Partner with attorneys and legal staff to plan and execute investigative strategies, prioritize tasks, and support case development.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations, including gathering and preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses, and communicating with clients.
  • Research and identify potential insurance coverage and alternative recovery options to strengthen claims.
  • Prepare and send spoliation letters, submit public records requests (FOIA), and review law enforcement reports at both the state and federal level.
  • Perform detailed research across criminal, civil, motor vehicle, and social media databases; obtain records from relevant agencies.
  • Document accident or incident scenes using technology (e.g., GPS tools) and analyze findings to support case strategy.
  • Assist with remote client meetings, document execution, and other case-related support as needed.

Investigator Requirements:

  • Knowledge of law enforcement reporting, legal documentation, and insurance processes.
  • Experience utilizing investigative databases and research tools (criminal, civil, driving records, social media, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct interviews and interact professionally with clients, witnesses, and other parties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple active cases and deadlines.
  • Experience drafting legal correspondence (including spoliation letters) and handling FOIA requests is preferred.
  • Proficiency with case management systems, Microsoft Office, and general office technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with applicable regulations (DPPA, HIPAA, etc.).
