Job Description

Vice President of Development

Baltimore, MD (5 days in office)

We are partnering with a highly active, mission-driven real estate platform focused on large-scale urban redevelopment and mixed-use projects in a major East Coast city. This organization is undergoing a strategic shift toward a more execution-focused, deal-driven development model and is looking to add a senior leader to help scale its real estate platform.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the growth of an emerging urban market, with direct involvement in high-impact, city-scale development projects.

The Role

The Vice President of Development will lead complex real estate projects from concept through completion, with a focus on mixed-use and urban redevelopment initiatives.

This individual will work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive deal execution, manage development processes, and help build out a high-performing internal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cradle-to-grave development across a diverse portfolio of mixed-use projects
  • Oversee both redevelopment and ground-up development initiatives
  • Manage all phases of the development lifecycle including sourcing, underwriting, design, entitlement, execution, and stabilization
  • Structure and execute complex capital stacks, including public and private financing sources
  • Partner with internal teams, external developers, consultants, and community stakeholders
  • Oversee asset management strategy and portfolio performance
  • Help recruit, build, and mentor a growing development team

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of real estate development experience
  • Strong background in mixed-use, urban, or large-scale redevelopment projects
  • Experience leading projects from concept through completion
  • Deep understanding of development finance and capital structuring
  • Experience working with public-private partnerships or complex stakeholder environments is a plus
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to take on a high-impact leadership role within a growing platform
  • Exposure to large-scale, visible development projects
  • Ability to help build and shape a team and pipeline from the ground up
  • Dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with strong backing and long-term growth plans
