Job Description

NxtGen is a growing cGMP analytical testing laboratory focused on peptide and protein characterization. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations with an initial focus on synthetic peptide testing .

This is an excellent opportunity to join a startup environment and contribute to building a high-quality, client-focused analytical lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, label, track and manage incoming peptide samples, maintain accurate sample records and chain of custody
• Create and manage batch records for testing activities
• Perform routine sample preparation (weighing, dilution, filtration)
• Prepare buffers, mobile phases, and reagents per SOPs
• Support analytical instruments with basic setup and maintenance tasks
• Conduct endotoxin testing (LAL assays) and sterility testing, and perform other routine tests or bioassays
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with GDP and ALCOA+
• Keep laboratory areas clean, organized, and audit-ready
• Follow all safety and cGMP procedures

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience preferred
• Basic lab skills (pipetting, weighing, solution preparation)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Working Conditions

• Environment: Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals, biological materials, and laboratory equipment.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• Location: North Charleston, SC.
• PPE: Required use of personal protective equipment (lab coat, gloves, safety glasses).
