We are seeking 4 entry-level Software Engineers to join our growing team at DirectViz Headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals beginning their career in software development within the security industry. In this role, you will assist with developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and systems that support security-focused operations while learning software engineering best practices under the guidance of experienced team members. This is a full-time position with overtime allowed.
Assist in developing and maintaining software applications and systems under the supervision of senior engineers
Support the coding, testing, and debugging of software components for security industry applications
Learn and apply secure coding practices and software development standards specific to government contracting environments
Participate in code reviews and technical documentation activities under guidance
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues
Support the integration of software modules and components into larger systems
Maintain accurate documentation of code changes, technical specifications, and development activities
Learn version control systems and collaborative development workflows
Develop understanding of security industry requirements, compliance standards, and specialized technical frameworks
Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, and agile development processes while learning from experienced developers
0-2 years of experience in software development, programming, or related technical field
Strong interest in pursuing a career in software engineering within the security and government contracting sectors
Basic programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar)
Fundamental understanding of software development lifecycle and basic coding principles
Proficiency with development tools and environments appropriate to the technology stack
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively in technical teams
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while learning from experienced professionals
Willingness to learn about security requirements, compliance standards, and government contracting regulations
No specific certifications required for this entry-level position
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Internship or academic project experience related to software development or programming
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and collaborative development platforms
Basic knowledge of database concepts and SQL
Understanding of the security industry landscape and government contracting environment
Exposure to agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Experience with software testing frameworks or quality assurance practices
Must be able to work full-time at DirectViz Headquarters
Overtime work may be required during critical development periods or project deadlines
Compensation is provided on a monthly rate basis
Must be authorized to work in the United States
