Instructional Designer (Video-Focused)

Remote (Occasional Travel for Video Shoots)

Are you an early-career Instructional Designer who loves both building learning experiences and bringing them to life on camera ? This is a unique opportunity to blend instructional design with hands-on video production in a dynamic utilities environment .

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented professional with 2–3 years of experience who is ready to design impactful training and produce engaging video content that supports operational, technical, safety, and customer-focused learning.

What You’ll Do

Instructional Design

• Design engaging learning solutions using adult learning principles
• Partner with SMEs to translate complex utility concepts into clear, learner-friendly content
• Develop a variety of training materials:
• ILT & VILT sessions
• E-learning modules
• Microlearning assets
• Video-based training
• Create storyboards, scripts, and structured learning outlines
• Update and maintain existing training content
• Ensure all materials meet accessibility and quality standards

Video Production (End-to-End)

• Lead pre-production planning (scripts, shot lists, scheduling)
• Set up and execute video shoots (camera, lighting, audio)
• Coach on-screen participants to ensure high-quality delivery
• Edit and produce polished final videos:
• Cut and trim footage
• Add titles, graphics, and simple animations
• Incorporate screen recordings and motion elements
• Optimize content for LMS, intranet, and mobile platforms

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of Instructional Design experience
• Strong understanding of adult learning theory and design principles
• Hands-on experience with video production and editing
• Ability to manage projects from concept through delivery
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with SMEs
• Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
