Job Description

Job Title: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Location: Irvine, CA

Organization: Orange County Soccer Club (OCSC)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Orange County Soccer Club is entering a defining era of growth both on and off the field.

As a founding member of the USL and 2021 USL Championship winner, OCSC is building toward the future of American soccer as part of the new USL Premier League, while also preparing for stadium expansion and the global spotlight of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

OCSC is not just building a team—it is building a scalable sports and entertainment business designed to drive revenue, community connection, and premium live experiences in one of the most dynamic markets in the country.

POSITION OVERVIEW

OCSC is seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead the club’s revenue operations, ticketing strategy, and matchday commercial execution during a critical growth phase.

Reporting directly to the President of Business Operations, the COO will be responsible for all ticket revenue performance, building a structured and scalable commercial engine, and ensuring tight alignment across sales, marketing, and operations.

This role requires a leader who can build systems, drive revenue, and execute at a high level, while leveraging relationships across the Orange County market to expand the club’s reach and impact.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue & Ticketing Leadership

  • Own and lead all ticket revenue streams, including season tickets, group sales, premium, and single-game sales
  • Develop and execute forward sales strategy to drive predictable, sustainable revenue growth
  • Oversee pricing, packaging, and inventory strategy across all matches and events
  • Build and manage a high-performance sales organization with clear KPIs and accountability

B2B / Corporate Sales Engine

  • Build and lead a structured corporate sales engine focused on long-term revenue growth
  • Define target account strategy across Orange County (enterprise, mid-market, and small business segments)
  • Develop outbound sales frameworks, hospitality offerings, and corporate engagement pathways
  • Drive revenue across key products including:
  • Golden Boot Club
  • Corporate outings and hospitality
  • Group season tickets
  • Small business programs
  • Establish repeatable processes for prospecting, pipeline development, and conversion
  • Leverage and expand existing relationships within the Orange County business and live events ecosystem

Marketing Alignment & Demand Generation

  • Ensure marketing is directly aligned to revenue goals, with clear accountability for demand generation
  • Partner closely with marketing leadership on campaign planning, timing, and performance
  • Align messaging, targeting, and promotions with ticket sales objectives
  • Drive integrated campaigns that convert awareness into attendance and revenue

Matchday as a Revenue Platform

  • Lead strategy to position matchday as a core revenue-driving platform, not just an operational function
  • Maximize in-stadium revenue opportunities including:
  • Corporate hosting and hospitality
  • Upsell opportunities and premium experiences
  • Future ticket sales and retention initiatives
  • Work closely with OCSC’s outsourced operations partner to ensure execution supports revenue and fan experience goals
  • Ensure a high-quality, repeatable experience that drives lifetime fan value

Planning, Systems & Performance

  • Lead season planning across ticketing, forecasting, and operational readiness
  • Oversee CRM usage, pipeline management, reporting, and performance tracking across all sales functions
  • Build scalable systems and processes to support long-term growth
  • Establish clear reporting frameworks tied to revenue performance

Leadership & Organizational Impact

  • Serve as a key member of the club’s leadership team
  • Build a culture of accountability, urgency, and execution excellence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, finance, and soccer operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in sports, entertainment, or related revenue-driven industries
  • Proven track record of building and scaling revenue systems and driving ticket sales growth
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales and/or operations teams
  • Strong understanding of ticketing systems, CRM platforms, and revenue operations
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Existing relationships within the Orange County market, business community, or live events ecosystem strongly preferred
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capabilities
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience driving revenue growth in a results-oriented environment
  • Experience in professional sports or live events
  • Experience with stadium operations or event execution
  • Familiarity with USL, MLS, or global football landscape

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, or requirements. OCSC reserves the right to modify the role as the organization evolves.

Orange County Soccer Club is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
