Job Description

Indienne is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant General Manager. The Ideal candidate will have Michelin level experience and an unwavering pursuit for excellence in every aspect of their role.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Training: Onboard, train and continued education for new hires
• Service: You are a constant presence on the floor, facilitating service wherever needed
• Schedule : Create and post the weekly FOH schedule on Sling
• End of Day: Record cash sales, send out nightly tips on Slack, check out all FOH members of the team 
• POS Maintenance: Update buttons, names, pricing and 86'd items
• Guest Relations: Build rapport, manage guest preferences and notes on Resy, follow up with guests in emails and voicemails as required.
• Food Menu Updates: Work with the culinary team for any updates or allergies
• Ongoing Education: Create a tests as needed to keep the team engaged and challenged
• Maintenance: Schedule restaurant maintenance as needed through verified contractors/vendors.
• Keyholder: Responsible for opening and closing the restaurant, ensuring security of the facility when last to leave the building.
• Purchasing/inventory: Order and take inventory of assigned departments
• Compliance: Ensure Chicago and Illinois labor law compliance as they apply to the team and restaurant (e.g. break laws, paid sick leave, certifications, etc.)

Qualified candidates must possess:

• Restaurant management experience of 2+ years
• Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of food and beverage knowledge
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively without losing focus on priorities and while maintaining world class standards
• Manager's Health Certification and a strong understanding, compliance, and enforcement of all best practices and procedures to maintain excellent restaurant cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Proficient in Google Workplace, Toast and Resy
• A keen eye for detail, a natural inclination to host, an open mind, and always up for a challenge
• Knowledge and/or experience with Indian food & beverage is a plus but not required
• Strong preference for experience in a Michelin/tasting menu setting

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
